Exploring the redwoods-Aidan Olson

While we were in the redwoods we got to go to the avenue of the Giants. While we were there we got to climb into tree stump
We also got to crawl through a fallen tree.
We also got to climb on top of redwoods.

The Redwoods- Ahva's Thoughts

In the redwoods there were so many trees that fell down so we could climb on them  all of them . It was so much fun.there were red woods every where we go.

At the bottom of the red wood trees are nice and red.  There was a fun stump we climbed on. We could all go inside it. All three of us could fit in it.

The Redwoods

While we were in the Redwoods we got to explore a ton of trees and stumps an logs that fell over. We found one stump that was like a nest you had to climb up to it but once you got up it was amazing the inside had a hole that wasn't very deep but it was cool to go into the hole.

There was also a log that had hollowed out and there was a little hole that you could climb into and come out on top of the log. I think the Redwoods is my favorite part on the trip.

Pacific Ocean

We officially made it across the country!!  It's been a busy, but very pleasant day of adventuring.  We started out in Washington visiting Wolf Haven International.  Then we took a break from driving to explore the Lewis and Clark National Park, and now we are making our way down the Oregon coast. Our feet touched the Pacific Ocean, and boy was it cold!

Wolf haven

Today we went to wolf haven a wolf sanctuary in Washington. We got to go on a tour and see many different wolves.
I was very happy that we got to see 2 Mexican gray wolves, 3 red wolves, and 6 gray wolves but we didn't see the coyotes. It was so fun!!!!!!

Little Bighorn

We recently went to see The Battle of Little Bighorn. When we were there we saw a lot of war stuff that the Native Americans and Custer used during the war. By 1876 the Native Americans had some guns. We watched a video about the last stand I learned a lot of stuff  from the video like the men shot their horses to be barricades for them so they would not die. The Native Americans did end up winning which I thought was awesome. But sadly the Native Americans never won another battle in that war. I think that this is an awesome national monument. What I really liked about it was it told you all of the Warriors names.

The Spelunking O's

Today we went to Wind Cave National Park. While we were there we went on a tour of the cave system. It was Called a complex maze cave, that means that there are multiple levels and that there are many different paths that you can take. We went on the Fairground tour. We saw boxwork (photo) it is one of the only caves that has boxwork in it. We also saw sandstone our guide told us that the sandstone keeps out the water. Close to the end of the tour we sat down and our guide turned all lights off to show us what it was like in the caves before they had lighting. The whole caves went completely pitch black you couldn't even see your hand right in front of your face! I thought that the cave were amazing. It was cool to see what happened as the lights evolved over time. I also liked it because there were so manny cool places that you could go explore.

Where the Buffalo Roam

This morning we were driving out of the camp we saw a buffalo in the field.but that's not all.  While we were in Custer state park we stopped and crossed a river and in our surprise we saw baby buffalo with their moms.  After that we left Custer state park and saw more buffalo!  Some were standing and some others were laying down.  There were some baby's with there mom.  I love watching them stick out there tongue while they make sounds.

And We're Off

We are on our way!  We arrived in Niagara Falls on the 3rd for dinner with our friends, the Woodhouses, and then enjoyed the 4th with them- the weather was perfect, the company terrific, and
relaxation fantastic.
Now we are on the road again and looking forward to filling in more states on our map!  Today we travel through Canada and then into Michigan to visit our friends at River of God church.

Many of you have asked about our route, and while we are keeping our itinerary flexible this is a screenshot of our Google map full of pins- places we would like to visit along the way.
