This was the destination I was most excited about and it certainly did not disappoint! We had a great time exploring all things Magnolia.
Waco also had a lot of other great activities and things to explore as well, from a cute downtown complete with suspension bridge and river walk to a National Monument of a Mammoth to a great hands on museum at Baylor University.

We started our time in Waco on the 4th of July at an Independence Day festival and fireworks on Baylor’s campus at McLane Stadium. There was great music and a festive atmosphere, although the traffic getting out of there was pretty crazy!
The Magnolia Table was a crowd pleaser for sure! We enjoyed breakfast there both mornings we were in Waco. Despite the hour+ wait each day everyone was very content. They have a great play yard with lawn games, an outdoor cafe to get a drink while you wait and of course their “Take Away” shop. In addition, each morning one of their employees comes out and does a little trivia while you wait. We learned that since they opened, on March 26th this year, they have used 11 tons of bacon!

Breakfast itself was delicious and the first morning we all overdid it a bit, and had to cut back on day two! Such a fun atmosphere, and very well run with lots of friendly employees to keep things running smoothly. We never felt hurried, but everything was very efficient. I particularly like Chips cell phone pockets, where everyone is encouraged to drop their device so they can focus on time together! 😊

After breakfast it was time to head over to the Silos and Magnolia Market. I love the feeling there, and if it wasn’t so hot we could have stayed all day, playing in the large play yard, walking around the gardens and of course visiting the Silo Bakery.
Because of the heat though we had to retreat to a swimming area each day after about an hour and a half. The Alabama Sweet Tea food truck was a huge hit though, and their $2 refills of the large mason jars made it a frequent stop.

We did a little touring of houses featured on Fixer Upper, Harp Design, and even spotted a Magnolia truck in a driveway of a house currently being remodeled!

All in all it was a fabulous visit. It inspired me to try some of Joanna’s recipes from the cookbook I bought, implement design elements from the market, and staying in the moment a little longer to enjoy the ones I love.
